About RB Tire &Brake

Since 1984, RB Tire & Brake has been a trusted cornerstone of automotive service in San Diego’s Rancho Bernardo community. Founded by Rick Downs when he was just 23 years old, Rick and his wife Robyn started the business the same year they were married – and today, after more than three decades, the shop remains a family-owned, independently operated business built on integrity, expertise, and genuine care for our customers and their vehicles.

Our Mission

At RB Tire & Brake, our mission is simple: to provide honest, high-quality auto repair and tire service that keeps you safe and confident on the road. We believe in treating every customer like a neighbor, communicating clearly and transparently, and never recommending work that’s unnecessary. Whether it’s a routine oil change, tire service, brake job, or major repair, we aim to deliver dependable value without surprises.
